 Introduced  by  Sen. SKOUFIS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
 AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation  to  increasing
   the penalties for passing a stopped school bus
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Paragraph b of subdivision 2 of section 510 of the  vehicle
 and  traffic law is amended by adding a new subparagraph (xviii) to read
 as follows:
   (XVIII) FOR A PERIOD OF SIXTY DAYS WHERE THE HOLDER IS CONVICTED OF  A
 VIOLATION  OF ANY PROVISION OF SUBDIVISION (A) OF SECTION ELEVEN HUNDRED
 SEVENTY-FOUR OF THIS CHAPTER WITHIN A PERIOD OF  EIGHTEEN  MONTHS  OF  A
 PREVIOUS VIOLATION OF SUCH SUBDIVISION.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed-
 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
