   printed to be committed to the Committee on Veterans, Homeland Securi-
   ty and Military Affairs
 
 AN ACT requiring the creation of a list of suitable  documentation  that
   can be used by veterans applying for real property tax exemptions

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The executive director  of  the  office  of  real  property
 services  shall  create  a  list  of  suitable documents which support a
 veteran's eligibility to apply for real property tax exemptions,  pursu-
 ant  to  sections  458 and 458-a of the real property tax law. Such list
 shall include, but not be limited to the discharge certificate DD-214.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
 it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition,  amend-
 ment  and/repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implementa-
 tion of this act on its effective date are authorized  to  be  made  and
 completed on or before such effective date.
