SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Offices of social services, which are open to the public, are to post conspicuously a notice of recipients basic rights, already established by law, which are as follows: - Right to a Fair Hearing

SANDERS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Social Services AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to public notice of basic rights THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The social services law is amended by adding a new section 134-c to read as follows: § 134-C. PUBLIC NOTICE OF BASIC RIGHTS. THE OFFICE OF TEMPORARY AND DISABILITY ASSISTANCE SHALL WORK WITH THE LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICES DISTRICTS TO DETERMINE WHAT INFORMATION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS AND RECIPIENTS OF PUBLIC ASSISTANCE. THE OFFICE OF TEMPORARY AND DISA- BILITY ASSISTANCE SHALL FURTHER DETERMINE WHICH OF THAT INFORMATION SHALL BE PLACED ON THE OFFICE'S WEBSITE. § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall have become law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD05099-01-1
