BILL NUMBER: S3209 SPONSOR: SALAZAR TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public health law, in relation to healthcare and wellness education and outreach programs on the donation of postnatal tissue and fluids PURPOSE: To encourage and establish awareness for the options for donation of postnatal tissue and fluids. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Amends Subdivision 1 of section 207 of the public health law, by adding a new paragraph (p) which would allow the department to conduct educa- tion and outreach programs that relate to donation of postnatal tissue and fluids.

SALAZAR -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Women's Issues AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to healthcare and wellness education and outreach programs on the donation of postnatal tissue and fluids THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 207 of the public health law is amended by adding a new paragraph (p) to read as follows: (P) POSTNATAL DONATION OF TISSUE AND FLUIDS. § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after it shall have become a law. Effective immediately the addition, amend- ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen- tation of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
