BILL NUMBER: S6671 SPONSOR: O'MARA TITLE OF BILL: An act in relation to legalizing, validating, ratifying and confirming certain transportation contracts of the Corning city school district PURPOSE: This bill would correct a clerical error between the Corning-Painted Post Area School District and the State Education Department in the 2017-18 school year SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1: Legalizes, validates, ratifies, and confirms transportation contracts for the 2017-18 school year. Section 2: Directs the Department of Education to consider the aforemen- tioned contracts for transportation aid.

O'MARA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education AN ACT in relation to legalizing, validating, ratifying and confirming certain transportation contracts of the Corning city school district THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. All the acts done and proceedings heretofore had and taken or caused to be had and taken by the Corning city school district and by all officers, employees or agents of such school district relating to or in connection with transportation contracts E414960, E414961, E414962 and E414963 of the 2017-2018 school year, and all acts incidental hereto are hereby legalized, validated, ratified and confirmed, notwithstanding any failure to comply with the contract award, approval and filing provisions of the education law, the general municipal law or any other law or any other statutory authority, rule or regulation, other than those filing provisions defined in paragraph a of subdivision 5 of section 3604 of the education law, in relation to any omission, error, defect, irregularity or illegality in such proceeding had and taken. § 2. The department of education is hereby directed to consider the aforementioned contract for transportation aid as valid and proper obli- gations of the Corning city school district. § 3.
