 Introduced  by  Sens.  MAYER, BIAGGI, HARCKHAM -- read twice and ordered
   printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee  on  Educa-
   tion
 
 AN  ACT  to  amend the education law, in relation to revision to charter
   schools

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Subdivision  7  of  section  2852 of the education law is
 amended by adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows:
   (C) BEGINNING WITH PROPOSED REVISIONS SUBMITTED TO  A  CHARTER  ENTITY
 AFTER  JUNE  FIRST,  TWO  THOUSAND  TWENTY-ONE, A CHARTER SCHOOL MAY NOT
 SUBMIT A REVISION TO A CHARTER THAT WOULD EXPAND THE GRADES SERVED  THAT
 WOULD  CAUSE  THE  SCHOOL TO SERVE GRADES LEVELS IN MORE THAN ONE OF THE
 FOLLOWING  SCHOOL  CLASSIFICATIONS;  ELEMENTARY   SCHOOL,   INTERMEDIATE
 SCHOOL,  MIDDLE SCHOOL, JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, OR HIGH SCHOOL AS DEFINED IN
 THE REGULATIONS OF THE COMMISSIONER.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
