 Introduced  by  Sen. SKOUFIS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
 AN ACT to authorize Gina Kehoe of the town of  Montgomery  to  take  the
   competitive civil service examination for the position of police offi-
   cer  and  be placed on the eligible list for employment as a full-time
   police officer for the town of Montgomery police department
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil
 service law, including the  age  requirements  under  paragraph  (a)  of
 subdivision  1  of  such  section,  or any other provision of law to the
 contrary, Gina Kehoe, employed by the town of Montgomery, in the  county
 of  Orange, as a part-time police officer, shall be eligible to take the
 competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer
 and shall, contingent upon her score on such examination, be eligible to
 be placed on the eligible list for appointment  as  a  full-time  police
 officer for the town of Montgomery police department.
   §  2.  Gina  Kehoe shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness
 provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi-
 cers.
   § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
