BILL NUMBER: S8367 SPONSOR: ORTT TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the county law, in relation to authorizing Niagara coun- ty to waive certain fees by local law for veterans' organizations PURPOSE: The purpose of this bill is to provide technical amendments to Chapter 601 of the Laws of 2021 SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This bill would explicitly require the Niagara County Legislature to act by local law when providing an exemption from fees related to capital improvements, including building permit review fees, for veterans' organizations in the County DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ORIGINAL AND AMENDED VERSION (IF APPLICABLE)

ORTT -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT to amend the county law, in relation to authorizing Niagara coun- ty to waive certain fees by local law for veterans' organizations THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The county law is amended by adding a new section 226-e to read as follows: § 226-E. WAIVER OF FEES FOR VETERANS' ORGANIZATIONS. THE NIAGARA COUN- TY LEGISLATURE IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO WAIVE FEES BY LOCAL LAW, INCLUD- ING BUT NOT LIMITED TO BUILDING PERMIT REVIEW FEES AND FEES ASSOCIATED WITH CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO ANY POST OR HALL OWNED BY A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CONGRESSIONALLY CHARTERED VETERANS' ORGANIZATION LOCATED IN SUCH COUNTY. § 2.
