 AN ACT to amend the real property tax  law,  in  relation  to  excluding
   environmental contamination from consideration as a factor for assess-
   ment
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 706 of the real property  tax  law  is  amended  by
 adding a new subdivision 3 to read as follows:
   3.  FOR  THE PURPOSES OF ASSESSMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL CONTAMINATION SHALL
 BE EXCLUDED FROM CONSIDERATION.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall  apply  to  real
 property with a taxable status date on or after such date.
