FAHY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to the public awareness and involvement in the thirty by thirty conservation plan THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivisions 3, 4 and 5 of section 49-0113 of the environ- mental conservation law, as amended by a chapter of the laws of 2022 amending the environmental conservation law relating to setting conser- vation goals for the state and including efforts to combat the biodiver- sity and climate crises in the state's land acquisition policy, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 6191-A and A. 5390-B, are amended to read as follows: 3. Conservation measures shall be undertaken in ways that serve all communities, including low-income, disadvantaged and vulnerable communi- ties, INCLUDING BY ENSURING MEANINGFUL OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLIC INPUT AND INVOLVEMENT. 4. The department [and office shall prepare a draft plan and shall propose no later than July first, two thousand twenty-two, a schedule of public hearings thereon. 5. On or before July first, two thousand twenty-three and every three years thereafter, the department and office shall submit the plan and any recommendations to the governor and legislature] SHALL POST THE DRAFT STRATEGIES AND METHODOLOGY DEVELOPED TO MEET THE GOAL NO LATER THAN JULY FIRST, TWO THOUSAND TWENTY-FOUR AND HOLD AT LEAST ONE PUBLIC HEARING THEREON. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL POST THE FINAL GOAL STRATEGIES AND METHODOLOGY ON ITS WEBSITE. 5. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL MAINTAIN AND, AT LEAST ANNUALLY, UPDATE ITS WEBSITE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION WITH REGARD TO THE IMPLEMENTATION AND STATUS OF THE GOAL.
