 AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to the establishment of a
   specialized electric vehicle emergency response training program
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section  156-i
 to read as follows:
   §  156-I.  ESTABLISHMENT  OF  A SPECIALIZED ELECTRIC VEHICLE EMERGENCY
 RESPONSE TRAINING PROGRAM. 1. THE STATE FIRE ADMINISTRATOR SHALL  ESTAB-
 LISH  A SPECIALIZED ELECTRIC VEHICLE EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING PROGRAM
 FOR INDIVIDUALS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING  EMERGENCY  RESPONSE  RECOVERY
 FOLLOWING INCIDENTS INVOLVING ELECTRIC VEHICLES. THE STATE FIRE ADMINIS-
 TRATOR  SHALL  INFORM  ALL  FIRE  COMPANIES,  MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS AND
 DISTRICTS, INCLUDING AGENCIES AND DEPARTMENTS THEREOF AND ALL FIREFIGHT-
 ERS, BOTH PAID AND VOLUNTEER, AND RELATED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES, POLICE
 OFFICERS, AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AGENCIES OF THE  IMPLEMENTATION
 AND  AVAILABILITY OF THE SPECIALIZED ELECTRIC VEHICLE EMERGENCY RESPONSE
 TRAINING PROGRAM AND SHALL, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF AN  APPROPRI-
 ATION,  CONDUCT  SUCH  TRAINING  WITH  SUFFICIENT  FREQUENCY  TO  ENSURE
 ADEQUATE  RESPONSE  TO  INCIDENTS  INVOLVING   ELECTRIC   VEHICLES   AND
 PROTECTION OF RESPONDERS IN ALL GEOGRAPHIC AREAS OF THE STATE.
   2.  THE STATE FIRE ADMINISTRATOR SHALL PRESCRIBE THE CURRICULUM OF THE
 SPECIALIZED ELECTRIC VEHICLE EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING PROGRAM,  WHICH
 SHALL INCLUDE, BUT SHALL NOT BE LIMITED TO, HANDS-ON TRAINING.
   3.  THE  STATE FIRE ADMINISTRATOR IS HEREBY DIRECTED TO ISSUE A REPORT
 TO THE GOVERNOR, SPEAKER OF THE ASSEMBLY,  TEMPORARY  PRESIDENT  OF  THE
 SENATE, CHAIRMAN OF THE ASSEMBLY TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE AND THE CHAIR-
 MAN OF THE SENATE TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE BY FEBRUARY FIFTEENTH OF EACH
 YEAR ON THE OPERATIONS OF THE PROGRAM SET FORTH IN THIS SECTION.

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 156-i

 AVAILABLE A SPECIALIZED ELECTRIC  VEHICLE  EMERGENCY  RESPONSE  TRAINING
 PROGRAM FOR INDIVIDUALS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND
 RECOVERY FOLLOWING INCIDENTS INVOLVING ELECTRIC VEHICLES. THE STATE FIRE
 ADMINISTRATOR  SHALL  INFORM  ALL FIRE COMPANIES, MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS
 AND DISTRICTS, INCLUDING AGENCIES AND DEPARTMENTS THEREOF AND ALL  FIRE-

 ABILITY  OF  AN  APPROPRIATION,  CONDUCT  SUCH  TRAINING WITH SUFFICIENT
 FREQUENCY TO ENSURE ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO  INCIDENTS  INVOLVING  ELECTRIC
 VEHICLES  AND  PROTECTION  OF  RESPONDERS IN ALL GEOGRAPHIC AREAS OF THE
 STATE.

 IZATION FOR STANDARDIZATION (ISO) STANDARD 17840, WHERE CONSISTENT FIRST
