 AN ACT directing the department of health to  conduct  a  study  on  the
   number  of  accidents involving non-electric bikes, electric bikes and
   electric scooters  resulting  in  an  individual  receiving  emergency
   medical services at a hospital

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The department of health, in consultation with hospitals in
 the state, shall conduct a study on the number  of  accidents  involving
 non-electric  bikes, electric bikes and electric scooters which resulted
 in an individual receiving emergency medical services at a hospital.
   § 2. Such study shall include, but not be limited to,  the  number  of
 individuals  at  each  hospital  within the prior year who have received
 emergency health services as a result of an accident involving a  non-e-
 lectric bike, electric bike or electric scooter.
   §  3.  Upon  completion of such study, but no later than one year from
 the effective date of this act, the department of health shall  issue  a
 report based on the findings of such study to the temporary president of
 the senate, the speaker of the assembly, and the governor.
   § 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
