PHEFFER AMATO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend chapter 756 of the laws of 2021 creating a temporary "commission to prevent childhood drowning" to improve water safety in New York state, in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 5 of chapter 756 of the laws of 2021 creating a temporary "commission to prevent childhood drowning" to improve water safety in New York state, is amended to read as follows: § 5. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after it shall have become a law, and shall expire and be deemed repealed [eighteen months] THREE YEARS after it shall have become a law. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD10986-01-3
