 Introduced  by M. of A. EPSTEIN, SIMON, COLTON, REYES, DICKENS, MAMDANI,
   GLICK, AUBRY, GIBBS, CRUZ, JACKSON, GONZALEZ-ROJAS --  read  once  and
   referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions
 
 AN  ACT  to amend the public authorities law, in relation to prohibiting
   the metropolitan transportation authority from promulgating  rules  or
   regulations that penalize a student for using a student MetroCard when
   school is not in session
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 1266 of the public authorities law  is  amended  by
 adding a new subdivision 20 to read as follows:
   20.  NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, THE AUTHORITY AND ANY
 OF ITS SUBSIDIARY CORPORATIONS SHALL NOT PROMULGATE ANY RULES  OR  REGU-
 LATIONS THAT PENALIZE ANY STUDENT FOR USING ANY CARD OR OTHER FARE MEDIA
 ISSUED  BY  THE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE CITY OF NEW YORK FOR TRANS-
 PORTATION PURPOSES ON ANY DAY WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
