AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to making commissioners
full time employees of the board
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Subdivisions 2 and 3 of section 3-200 of the election law
are amended to read as follows:
2. Each board shall consist of two election commissioners WHO SHALL BE
FULL TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE BOARD, except that the county legislative
body of a county having a population of more than one hundred and twenty
thousand may, by local law, increase the number of commissioners to
four, to be appointed as provided in this title. Each of the major
political parties shall be eligible to recommend appointment of an equal
number of commissioners.
3. In the city of New York the board shall consist of ten commission-
ers of election WHO SHALL BE FULL TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE BOARD AND who
shall be registered voters in the county for which they are appointed
and they shall be appointed by the city council of the city of New York.
Not more than two commissioners shall be registered voters of the same
county.
§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 3-200 of the election law is
amended to read as follows:
2. (A) Each board OUTSIDE THE CITY OF NEW YORK shall consist of two
election commissioners WHO SHALL BE FULL TIME EMPLOYEES OF SUCH BOARD,
except that the county legislative body of a county having a population
of more than one hundred [and] twenty thousand may, by local law,
increase the number of SUCH commissioners to four, to be appointed as
provided in this title.
(B) Each of the major political parties shall be eligible to recommend
appointment of an equal number of commissioners.
§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
