 AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to directing the division
   of criminal justice services to establish a universal, statewide human
   trafficking hotline

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 837-x
 to read as follows:
   § 837-X. STATEWIDE HUMAN TRAFFICKING HOTLINE. THE DIVISION, IN CONSUL-
 TATION WITH THE OFFICE OF TEMPORARY  AND  DISABILITY  ASSISTANCE,  SHALL
 ESTABLISH A TOLL FREE CONFIDENTIAL HOTLINE TO PROVIDE INDIVIDUALS IN THE
 STATE ACCESS TO APPROPRIATE COUNSELLING AND SERVICES FOR HUMAN TRAFFICK-
 ING VICTIMS. THE DIVISION SHALL OPERATE THIS HOTLINE TWENTY-FOUR HOURS A
 DAY,  SEVEN  DAYS A WEEK, AND DISSEMINATE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS HOTLINE
 IN ORDER TO ENSURE PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOTLINE, INCLUDING BY WORKING
 WITH THE OFFICE OF TEMPORARY AND DISABILITY ASSISTANCE  TO  ENSURE  THAT
 INFORMATION  ON THE HOTLINE IS INCLUDED AS AN ADDITIONAL RESOURCE IN ANY
 MATERIALS AND ON ANY POSTERS WHICH REFERENCE THE  NATIONAL  HUMAN  TRAF-
 FICKING RESOURCE CENTER HOTLINE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
