BILL NUMBER: S4173 SPONSOR: RYAN TITLE OF BILL: An act in relation to directing the department of health to extend the New York state Medicaid doula services pilot program PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: This bill would extend the New York state Medicaid doula services pilot program, which has been in effect in Erie County since 2019 for an addi- tional four years. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 extends the New York state Medicaid doula services pilot program in Erie County under the same terms and conditions until March 1, 2027. Section 2 is the effective date.

RYAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health AN ACT in relation to directing the department of health to extend the New York state Medicaid doula services pilot program THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the department of health shall extend the New York state Medi- caid doula services pilot program in Erie county under the same terms and conditions until March 1, 2027. The cost to administer such program extension shall not exceed $500,000 over four years. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to have been in full force and effect on and after February 28, 2023.
