Requires transportation network companies to notify passengers who have reported an incident of sexual assault that occurred during a TNC prearranged trip that the TNC will not report such incident to law enforcement; requires TNCs to advise every passenger that reports an incident of sexual assault that occurred during a TNC prearranged trip of their right to make a report to local law enforcement or the state police.

 Introduced  by  Sen. HINCHEY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
 AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in  relation  to  requiring
   transportation   network  companies  to  notify  passengers  who  have
   reported an incident of sexual assault of certain information

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  The  vehicle  and  traffic law is amended by adding a new
 section 1700-a to read as follows:
   § 1700-A. RESPONSE TO REPORTS. 1. EVERY TNC SHALL NOTIFY ANY PASSENGER
 REPORTING AN INCIDENT OF SEXUAL  ASSAULT  THAT  OCCURRED  DURING  A  TNC
 PREARRANGED  TRIP  THAT  THE  TNC  WILL  NOT REPORT SUCH INCIDENT TO LAW
 ENFORCEMENT.
   2. EVERY TNC SHALL ENSURE THAT EVERY PASSENGER THAT REPORTS  AN  INCI-
 DENT  OF  SEXUAL  ASSAULT THAT OCCURRED DURING A TNC PREARRANGED TRIP IS
 ADVISED OF THEIR RIGHT TO MAKE A REPORT TO LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT  AND/OR
 STATE POLICE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
