 Introduced  by  Sen. JACKSON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
 AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to establishing
   a central business district toll exemption for  certain  employees  of
   the city of New York and the New York city health and hospitals corpo-
   ration

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 1704-a of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by
 adding a new subdivision 2-b to read as follows:
   2-B. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION TO THE CONTRARY, NO EMPLOYEE OF THE
 CITY OF NEW YORK IN THE TITLE OF FIREFIGHTER, FIRE MARSHAL, MARINE ENGI-
 NEER, PILOT OR WIPER, AND NO EMPLOYEE OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK OR THE NEW
 YORK CITY HEALTH AND HOSPITALS CORPORATION IN A TITLE WHOSE  DUTIES  ARE
 THOSE  OF  AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN OR ADVANCED EMERGENCY MEDICAL
 TECHNICIAN (AS THOSE TERMS ARE DEFINED IN SECTION THREE THOUSAND ONE  OF
 THE  PUBLIC  HEALTH  LAW),  SHALL BE CHARGED A CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT
 TOLL.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
