 Introduced  by  Sen.  COONEY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern-
   ment Operations
 
 AN ACT to amend the cannabis law, in relation to including gender equal-
   ity in the social and economic equity  plan  of  the  New  York  state
   cannabis control board

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Paragraphs (e) and (f) of subdivision 2 of  section  87  of
 the cannabis law are amended and a new paragraph (g) is added to read as
 follows:
   (e)  distressed  farmers,  as  defined  in  subdivision  five  of this
 section; [and]
   (f) service-disabled veterans[.]; AND
   (G) TRANSGENDER, GENDER NON-CONFORMING AND NON-BINARY INDIVIDUALS.
   § 2. Subdivision 5 of section 87 of the cannabis  law  is  amended  by
 adding a new paragraph (h) to read as follows:
   (H)  "TRANSGENDER,  GENDER  NON-CONFORMING AND NON-BINARY INDIVIDUALS"
 SHALL MEAN ANY PERSON WHO HAS A GENDER IDENTITY OR EXPRESSION  DIFFERENT
 FROM THE SEX ASSIGNED TO THAT INDIVIDUAL AT BIRTH.
   § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
