   STERN,  ZINERMAN,  LUPARDO, ZEBROWSKI -- read once and referred to the
   Committee on Aging
 
 AN ACT to amend the elder law, in relation to  creating  the  office  of
   older adult workforce development within the office for the aging

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The elder law is amended by adding a  new  section  226  to
 read as follows:
   §  226.  OFFICE  OF  OLDER  ADULT WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT. 1. WITHIN THE
 OFFICE, THERE SHALL BE ESTABLISHED AN OFFICE OF  OLDER  ADULT  WORKFORCE
 DEVELOPMENT.  THE  OFFICE  OF OLDER ADULT WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SHALL BE
 HEADED BY A COORDINATOR WHO SHALL BE APPOINTED BY  THE  DIRECTOR.    THE
 COORDINATOR  SHALL WORK IN CONSULTATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND
 THE DIVISION OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE COURSE OF THEIR DUTIES.
   2. THE COORDINATOR OF THE OFFICE OF OLDER ADULT WORKFORCE  DEVELOPMENT
 SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING DUTIES:
   (A)  ADVISE AND ASSIST THE STATE IN COORDINATING WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
 PROGRAMS TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF OLDER ADULTS IN THE WORKPLACE;
   (B)  CREATE  A  CENTRALIZED  WEBSITE  ON  THE  OFFICE'S  WEBSITE  WITH
 RESOURCES  FOR OLDER ADULTS ON JOB PLACEMENT, CAREER BUILDING AND DEVEL-
 OPMENT, AND JOB SUPPORT;
   (C)  PROVIDE INFORMATION ON PROHIBITIONS AGAINST AGE DISCRIMINATION IN
 THE WORKPLACE AND REMEDIES AVAILABLE TO VICTIMS OF SUCH DISCRIMINATION;
   (D) PROVIDE OUTREACH AND EDUCATION TO OLDER  ADULTS  ON  THE  SERVICES
 PROVIDED BY THE OFFICE OF OLDER ADULT WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT; AND
   (E)  PERFORM  OTHER DUTIES AS THE DIRECTOR MAY ASSIGN TO THE COORDINA-
 TOR.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
