S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 6922 2023-2024 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y May 9, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. MAGNARELLI -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend chapter 3 of the laws of 2020 relating to establishing the stretch limousine passenger safety task force, in relation to extending the provisions thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 8 of section 1 and section 2 of chapter 3 of the laws of 2020 relating to establishing the stretch limousine passen- ger safety task force, as amended by chapter 177 of the laws of 2022, are amended to read as follows: 8. The task force shall, on or before October 1, 2022, issue a final report and recommendations to the governor, the temporary president of the senate, and the speaker of the assembly; PROVIDED THAT THE TASK FORCE SHALL CONTINUE TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS AND MEETINGS AS NECESSARY TO REVIEW THE ACTIONS TAKEN BY THE STATE TO IMPLEMENT THE RECOMMENDA- TIONS OF SUCH FINAL REPORT AND SHALL PUBLISH A REPORT OF ITS FINDINGS ON OR BEFORE APRIL 15, 2024. § 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall have become a law and shall expire and be deemed repealed [May 31, 2023] DECEMBER 31, 2024. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to have been in full force and effect on and after November 1, 2021; provided, however, that the amendments to subdivision 8 of section 1 of chapter 3 of the laws of 2020 relating to establishing the stretch limousine passenger safety task force, made by section one of this act shall not affect the expiration of such chapter and shall be deemed repealed therewith.
