BILL NUMBER: S209 SPONSOR: CLEARE TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the education law, in relation to requiring schools that maintain epinephrine auto-injectors on-site to provide teachers with written informational material on the use of such auto-injectors PURPOSE: This bill requires informational material concerning epinephrine auto- injectors to be made available in schools that stock them on-site. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: School districts, boards of cooperative educational services, county vocational education and extension boards, charter schools, and nonpub- lic elementary and secondary schools in this state that provide and maintain epinephrine auto-injectors on-site pursuant to this section shall provide all teachers with written informational material on the use of an epinephrine auto-injector that has been created and approved

CLEARE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to requiring schools that maintain epinephrine auto-injectors on-site to provide teachers with written informational material on the use of such auto-injectors THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 921-a of the education law is amended by adding a new subdivision 3 to read as follows: 3. SCHOOL DISTRICTS, BOARDS OF COOPERATIVE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, COUNTY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND EXTENSION BOARDS, CHARTER SCHOOLS, AND NON-PUBLIC ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN THIS STATE THAT PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTORS ON-SITE PURSUANT TO THIS SECTION SHALL PROVIDE ALL TEACHERS WITH WRITTEN INFORMATIONAL MATERIAL ON THE USE OF AN EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR THAT HAS BEEN CREATED AND APPROVED BY A HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD00744-02-3
