BILL NUMBER: S4585 SPONSOR: OBERACKER TITLE OF BILL: An act amend chapter 333 of the laws of 2006 amending the tax law relat- ing to authorizing the county of Schoharie to impose a county recording tax on obligation secured by a mortgage on real property, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE: The purpose of the bill is to extend provisions authorizing Schoharie County to impose an additional mortgage recording tax for an additional three years. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Amends chapter 333 of the laws of 2006, as amended by chapter 58 of the laws of 2020, authorizing Schoharie County to enact an additional mort- gage recording tax of twenty-five cents for each one hundred dollars of debt until December 1, 2026.

Section 2 of chapter 333 of the laws of 2006 amending the tax law relating to authorizing the county of Schoharie to impose a county recording tax on obligation secured by a mortgage on real proper- ty, as amended by section 1 of item A of subpart E of part XXX of chap- ter 58 of the laws of 2020, is amended to read as follows: § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed on and after December 1, [2023] 2026. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09341-01-3
