BILL NUMBER: S5287 SPONSOR: MANNION TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 373 of the laws of 1998, amending the public authorities law relating to the powers of NYSARC, Inc., in relation to the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: The purpose of this bill is to extend the authority of NYSARC, Inc., d/b/a The Arc New York, to avail itself of Dormitory Authority of the State of New York services until December 31, 2028. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 of this bill would extend, until December 31, 2028, the authority of NYSARC to avail itself of Dormitory Authority of the State of New York services. Section 2 of this bill would establish a contracts provision.

MANNION -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend chapter 373 of the laws of 1998, amending the public authorities law relating to the powers of NYSARC, Inc., in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 5 of chapter 373 of the laws of 1998, amending the public authorities law relating to the powers of NYSARC, Inc., as amended by chapter 444 of the laws of 2018, is amended to read as follows: § 5. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed on December 31, [2023] 2028. § 2. Any contracts entered into by the dormitory authority pursuant to this act shall be deemed state contracts within the meaning of that term as set forth in article 15-A of the executive law, and the authority shall be deemed, for the purposes of this act, a contracting agency as that term is used in such article. § 3.
