BILL NUMBER: S6719 SPONSOR: MATTERA TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to excluding deer management professionals retained by the incorporated village of Lloyd Harbor PURPOSE: The legislation would exclude deer management professionals from the rifle-hunting ban in the Village of Lloyd Harbor. SUMMARY: Section 1 amends paragraph a of subdivision 5 of section 11-0931 of the environmental conservation law to exclude deer management professionals from the rifle-hunting ban in the Village of Lloyd Harbor Section 2 is the effective date.

MATTERA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to excluding deer management professionals retained by the incorporated village of Lloyd Harbor THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph a of subdivision 5 of section 11-0931 of the environmental conservation law is amended to read as follows: a. No person shall use a rifle for hunting on Long Island or in West- chester County. If a person [be] IS found carrying a rifle in the wood- lands on Long Island or in Westchester County, that fact shall be presumptive evidence that he OR SHE is illegally using it for hunting in that area[; but this]. THIS provision does not apply to: (1) members of a duly organized target shooting club carrying unloaded rifles to and from the target range; AND (2) DEER MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS RETAINED BY THE INCORPORATED VILLAGE OF LLOYD HARBOR ACTING WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE VILLAGE. § 2.
