BILL NUMBER: S820 SPONSOR: MAY TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend a chapter of the laws of 2022, directing the department of agriculture and markets, in cooperation with the New York state ener- gy research and development authority, to develop and produce guidance and educational materials on the use of agrivoltaics in farming, relat- ing to cooperative extension offices and New York state soil and water conservation districts PURPOSE OF BILL: This is a chapter amendment that makes changes to provisions of L.2022, c.629. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: This legislation extends the timeframe for enactment of the bill's provisions from 120 days after the effective date to one year.

MAY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend a chapter of the laws of 2022, directing the department of agriculture and markets, in cooperation with the New York state energy research and development authority, to develop and produce guidance and educational materials on the use of agrivoltaics in farm- ing, relating to cooperative extension offices and New York state soil and water conservation districts THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision (b) of section 2 of a chapter of the laws of 2022 directing the department of agriculture and markets, in cooperation with the New York state energy research and development authority, to develop and produce guidance and educational materials on the use of agrivoltaics in farming, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 7861-A and A. 9336-A, is amended to read as follows: (b) No later than [one hundred twenty days] ONE YEAR after the effec- tive date of this act, the guidance and educational materials developed pursuant to paragraph (a) of this section shall be produced and distrib- uted to cooperative extension offices located in the state and to New York state soil and water conservation districts, and made available on the websites of the department of agriculture and markets and the New York state energy research and development authority. § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a chapter of the laws of 2022 directing the department of agriculture and markets, in cooperation with the New York state energy research and development authority, to develop and produce guidance and educational materials on the use of agrivoltaics in farming, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 7861-A and A. 9336-A, takes effect.
