 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  social  services  law, in relation to requiring
   reporting of certain data about calls made to  the  statewide  central
   register of child abuse and maltreatment and the HEARS family line
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The social services law is amended by adding a new  section
 422-d to read as follows:
   §  422-D.  OFFICE  OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES; DATA TRANSPARENCY.
 1. THE OFFICE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES SHALL ANNUALLY PUBLISH  ON
 ITS  WEBSITE  THE  FOLLOWING  DATA ABOUT CALLS RECEIVED BY THE STATEWIDE
 CENTRAL REGISTER OF CHILD ABUSE AND MALTREATMENT:
   (A) BY CALENDAR YEAR:
   (I) STATEWIDE CENTRAL REGISTER OF CHILD ABUSE AND  MALTREATMENT  CALLS
 ACTIVITY TOTAL;
   (II)  INTAKES,  INCLUDING  THE  TOTAL NUMBER OF INTAKES AS WELL AS THE
 NUMBER OF DUPLICATE, INITIAL AND SUBSEQUENT INTAKES;
   (III) THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CALLS CATEGORIZED AS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION;
   (IV) THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CALLS CATEGORIZED AS INFORMATION  AND  REFER-
 RAL;
   (V) THE TOTAL NUMBER OF NON-REPORTS;
   (VI) THE TOTAL NUMBER OF NON-REPORTS FOR EACH OF THE FOLLOWING CLOSURE
 REASONS:
   (A) COMPLETED IN BACKUP SYSTEM;
   (B) CHILD 18 YEARS OR OLDER;
   (C) DISCONNECTED BEFORE PROVIDING ADEQUATE INFORMATION;
   (D) INSUFFICIENT DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION;
   (E) IT ISSUES;
   (F) LAW ENFORCEMENT REFERRAL PROCESSED;
   (G) NO REASONABLE CAUSE TO SUSPECT;
   (H) NO HARM/EFFECT ON CHILD;
   (I) NO IMMINENT DANGER OF HARM;
   (J) NO PERSON LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE/PARENT;
 
  EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets
                       [ ] is old law to be omitted.
