AN ACT to amend the military law, in relation to free use of subways,
buses and trains for certain members of the New York national guard
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 237 of the military law, as added by chapter 420 of
the laws of 1953, is amended to read as follows:
§ 237. Free passage [through]; toll-gates [and], tunnels [and over],
toll-bridges [and], ferries, SUBWAYS, BUSES AND TRAINS. Any person
belonging to the organized militia shall, together with the conveyance
in [his] THEIR charge and property of the state or of the United States
in [his] THEIR charge, be allowed to pass free through all toll-gates
and tunnels and over all toll-bridges, and SHALL also [over all] RIDE
FREE OF CHARGE ON ALL PUBLIC ferries, SUBWAYS, BUSES AND TRAINS if [he]
SUCH PERSON is in uniform or presents an order for duty or certificate
of an order for duty.
§ 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
have become a law.
