   tee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions
 
 AN  ACT  to amend the public authorities law, in relation to authorizing
   the Lawrence-Cedarhurst fire department to  enter  into  a  long  term
   lease with the Nassau county bridge authority
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 16 of section 654  of  the  public  authorities
 law,  as added by chapter 106 of the laws of 2001, is amended to read as
 follows:
   16. To lease property of the authority  to  the  Atlantic  Beach  fire
 district,  LAWRENCE-CEDARHURST  FIRE  DEPARTMENT, INC. or [its designee]
 THEIR DESIGNEES for the purpose of constructing and operating  a  rescue
 station,  FIRE  DEPARTMENT  TRAINING  FACILITIES, OR FACILITIES TO STORE
 FIRE DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT on such property; provided, however,  that  no
 such lease shall be made except with the approval of the county legisla-
 ture nor for a period of more than thirty years from the date when it is
 made.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
