 AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation  to  removing  designating
   letters on ballots
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 7 of section 7-104  of  the  election  law,  as
 amended  by  chapter  411  of  the  laws  of 2019, is amended to read as
 follows:
   7. The ballot shall have printed upon it in black ink for  each  party
 or  independent  row,  at the head of the column or the beginning of the
 row containing the names of candidates, the name of the party  or  inde-
 pendent body [and the designating letter of the row or column].
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
