AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to the definition of
a qualified mental health professional for purposes of mobile crisis
outreach teams
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Paragraph 2 of subdivision (d) of section 9.58 of the
mental hygiene law, as amended by chapter 230 of the laws of 2004, is
amended to read as follows:
(2) "Qualified mental health professional" shall mean a licensed
psychologist, registered professional nurse, LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH
COUNSELOR, LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST, licensed clinical
social worker or a licensed master social worker under the supervision
of a physician, psychologist or licensed clinical social worker.
§ 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amend-
ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen-
tation of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and
completed on or before such effective date.
