AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to allowing certain
persons to practice as a mental health practitioner under supervision
for a certain period of time if application and fee requirements are
met
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 8410 of the education law is amended by adding a
new subdivision 12 to read as follows:
12. PROHIBIT OR LIMIT THE ACTIVITIES OR SERVICES PROVIDED BY A PERSON
WITH A MASTER'S LEVEL DEGREE REQUIRED FOR LICENSURE PURSUANT TO THIS
ARTICLE, WORKING UNDER SUPERVISION PURSUANT TO THIS ARTICLE FOR UP TO
NINETY DAYS AFTER THE SUBMISSION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF (A) APPLICATION
AND FEE FOR LICENSURE, AND (B) APPLICATION AND FEE FOR A LIMITED PERMIT
PURSUANT TO SECTION EIGHTY-FOUR HUNDRED NINE OF THIS ARTICLE.
§ 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeed-
ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
