AN ACT to amend the general municipal law and the administrative code of
the city of New York, in relation to prohibiting the use of adhesive
stickers in the enforcement of street parking rules; and to repeal
certain provisions of the administrative code of the city of New York
relating thereto
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The general municipal law is amended by adding a new
section 99-aa to read as follows:
§ 99-AA. ADHESIVE STICKERS IN THE ENFORCEMENT OF STREET PARKING RULES
PROHIBITED. IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL FOR ANY DEPARTMENT OF A MUNICIPALITY
TASKED WITH PARKING ENFORCEMENT TO AFFIX AN ADHESIVE STICKER TO ANY PART
OF A MOTOR VEHICLE SOLELY IN CONNECTION WITH ENFORCEMENT OF STREET PARK-
ING RULES.
§ 2. Section 19-163.2 of the administrative code of the city of New
York is REPEALED and a new section 19-163.2 is added to read as follows:
§ 19-163.2 ADHESIVE STICKERS IN THE ENFORCEMENT OF STREET PARKING
RULES PROHIBITED. IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL FOR ANY DEPARTMENT TO AFFIX AN
ADHESIVE STICKER TO ANY PART OF A MOTOR VEHICLE SOLELY IN CONNECTION
WITH ENFORCEMENT OF STREET PARKING RULES.
§ 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
