AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to compensation for
required code enforcement personnel training
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 376-a of the executive law is amended by adding a
new subdivision 5 to read as follows:
5. ALL CODE ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL SHALL BE PAID FOR ANY TRAINING
REQUIRED PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION AT A RATE SET BY THE
SECRETARY OF STATE. SUCH RATE SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN THE CODE ENFORCE-
MENT PERSONNEL'S REGULAR RATE OF PAY, OR LESS THAN ANY RATE OF PAY SPEC-
IFIED IN A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT COVERING SUCH CODE ENFORCE-
MENT PERSONNEL.
§ 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or
repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implementation of
this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed
on or before such effective date.
