 AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to establishing a  mental
   health  first aid training program for police officers and peace offi-
   cers
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Subdivision  1  of  section  840  of the executive law is
 amended by adding a new paragraph (n) to read as follows:
   (N) ESTABLISHMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION ON AN ONGOING BASIS OF  A  MENTAL
 HEALTH  FIRST  AID TRAINING PROGRAM FOR ALL CURRENT AND NEW POLICE OFFI-
 CERS AND PEACE OFFICERS.
   § 2. This act shall take effect one year after it shall have become  a
