 AN  ACT  to  amend the executive law, in relation to requiring the state
   Capitol and the legislative office  building  conduct  active  shooter
   drills
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 236 to
 read as follows:
   § 236. ACTIVE SHOOTER DRILLS. THE STATE POLICE SHALL CONDUCT AN ACTIVE
 SHOOTER DRILL IN THE STATE CAPITOL BUILDING AND THE  LEGISLATIVE  OFFICE
 BUILDING  AT  LEAST  ONCE  EACH YEAR IN WHICH OCCUPANTS OF THE BUILDINGS
 SHALL PARTICIPATE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next  succeed-
 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
