 AN ACT to amend the vehicle and  traffic  law,  in  relation  to  number
   stickers for electric vehicles
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Section 402 of the vehicle and traffic law  is  amended  by
 adding a new subdivision 9 to read as follows:
   9.  NOTWITHSTANDING  ANY  OTHER PROVISION OF THIS ARTICLE, THE COMMIS-
 SIONER MAY DEVELOP NUMBER STICKERS TO BE USED ON  ELECTRIC  VEHICLES  IN
 THE  PLACE  OF  NUMBER  PLATES. SUCH NUMBER STICKERS SHALL HAVE THE SAME
 APPEARANCE, NUMBERING SYSTEM AND FEES AS NUMBER PLATES PURSUANT TO  THIS
 ARTICLE AND SHALL ADHERE DIRECTLY TO THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE IN THE SAME
 POSITION AS A NUMBER PLATE.
   §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall

 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  vehicle  and traffic law, in relation to number
   stickers for motor vehicles

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section  402 of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by
