 AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to exempting  used  books  from
   the collection sales and use taxes
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Short title. This act shall be known and may  be  cited  as
 the "Paid-In Act".
   §  2.  Subdivision  (a)  of  section 1115 of the tax law is amended by
 adding a new paragraph 47 to read as follows:
   (47) USED BOOKS, WHICH SHALL INCLUDE SECONDHAND PURCHASES.
   § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.

 AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to exempting  used  books  from
   the collection sales and use taxes

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 HUNDRED DOLLARS PER ITEM.
