S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 8148 2025-2026 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y May 2, 2025 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. JONES -- read once and referred to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT in relation to authorizing certain health care professionals licensed to practice in other jurisdictions to practice in this state in connection with the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games sliding sports competitions, Lake Placid 2026; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, any person who is licensed or certified as a physician, physician's assistant, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, dentist, optometrist, nurse, nurse practitioner, emergency medical technician, podiatrist, or athletic trainer, by a foreign government, may provide professional services within this state without first being licensed pursuant to the provisions of title 8 of the education law or certified pursuant to the provisions in the public health law, as may be applica- ble, to the team athletes, coaches, staff and delegations originating from such foreign government, in connection with the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games sliding sports competitions in Lake Placid 2026. Such services shall be limited to athletes and personnel in relation to the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games sliding sports competitions, Lake Placid 2026, between the dates of January 27, 2026 and February 25, 2026. § 2. Any person who is licensed or certified as a physician, physi- cian's assistant, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, dentist, optometrist, nurse, nurse practitioner, emergency medical tech- nician, podiatrist, or athletic trainer, in another state or territory who is in good standing in such state or territory, and who has been appointed by the Olympic Regional Development Authority to provide professional services at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games sliding EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
