 AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in  relation  to  equipping
   all ambulances and emergency ambulance service vehicles with stop-arms
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 375 of the vehicle and traffic law  is  amended  by
 adding a new subdivision 58 to read as follows:
   58.  THE COMMISSIONER, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE COMMISSIONER OF TRANS-
 PORTATION, SHALL PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE USE  OF  STOP-
 ARMS ON AMBULANCES AND EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE VEHICLES.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
