 AN ACT to amend the general city law, in  relation  to  requiring  addi-
   tional  notice prior to the discontinuance of drinking water fluorida-
   tion
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  The  general  city law is amended by adding a new section
 18-e to read as follows:
   § 18-E. ADDITIONAL NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  FOR  CITIES  SEEKING  TO
 CEASE  FLUORIDATION.  NO  CITY THAT FLUORIDATES A PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY OR
 CAUSES A PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY TO BECOME FLUORIDATED SHALL DISCONTINUE THE
 ADDITION OF A FLUORIDE COMPOUND TO SUCH PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY UNLESS  SUCH
 CITY HAS FIRST ISSUED A DETERMINATION TO DISCONTINUE FLUORIDATION, WHICH
 SHALL INCLUDE THE JUSTIFICATION FOR SUCH DISCONTINUANCE. SUCH CITY SHALL
 PUBLISH  A  NOTICE  INCLUDING  THE  DATE OF SUCH DISCONTINUANCE IN LOCAL
 NEWSPAPERS AND ON THE CITY'S WEBSITE AT LEAST  NINETY  DAYS  BEFORE  THE
 DATE OF SUCH DISCONTINUANCE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  The  general  city law is amended by adding a new section
 18-e to read as follows:
   § 18-E. ADDITIONAL NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  FOR  CITIES  SEEKING  TO
 CEASE  FLUORIDATION.  NO  CITY THAT FLUORIDATES A PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY OR
 CAUSES A PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY TO BECOME FLUORIDATED SHALL DISCONTINUE THE
 ADDITION OF A FLUORIDE COMPOUND TO SUCH PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY UNLESS  SUCH
 CITY  HAS  FIRST  COMPLIED  WITH  SECTION ELEVEN HUNDRED-A OF THE PUBLIC
 HEALTH LAW. SUCH CITY SHALL PUBLISH A NOTICE INCLUDING THE DATE OF  SUCH
 DISCONTINUANCE  IN LOCAL NEWSPAPERS AND ON THE CITY'S WEBSITE AND SOCIAL
 MEDIA PAGES AT LEAST NINETY DAYS BEFORE THE DATE OF SUCH DISCONTINUANCE.
