 AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to prohibiting charg-
   es for the issuance of a certificate of still birth or pregnancy loss;
   and to repeal certain provisions of such law relating thereto
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 9 of section 4160-a of the public health law is
 REPEALED and a new subdivision 9 is added to read as follows:
   9.  THE  DEPARTMENT,  OR  IN  THE  CITY OF NEW YORK, THE NEW YORK CITY
 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE SHALL NOT CHARGE ANY FEE FOR THE
 ISSUANCE OF A CERTIFICATE UNDER THIS SECTION.
   § 2. Subdivision 6 of  section  4160  of  the  public  health  law  is
 REPEALED.
   §  3. Section 4161 of the public health law is amended by adding a new
 subdivision 5 to read as follows:
   5. A LOCAL REGISTRAR SHALL NOT CHARGE A FEE  FOR  THE  ISSUANCE  OF  A
 CERTIFICATE OF PREGNANCY LOSS UNDER THIS ARTICLE.
   §  4.  This  act  shall  take  effect on the same date and in the same
 manner as a chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the public  health  law
 relating  to  prohibiting  charges  for the issuance of a certificate of
 still birth or pregnancy loss, as proposed in legislative bills  numbers
 S. 1807-A and A. 2311-A, takes effect.
