 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  legislative law, in relation to requiring state
   agencies report to the relevant committees on a biannual basis
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. The legislative law is amended by adding a new section 31-a
 to read as follows:
   §  31-A.  BIANNUAL APPEARANCES AND INQUIRIES IN RESPECT TO STATE AGEN-
 CIES; PROCEDURE REGULATED. 1. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS  SECTION,  "STATE
 AGENCY" SHALL MEAN THE FOLLOWING:
   (A) STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS;
   (B) CANAL CORPORATION;
   (C) CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK;
   (D) DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND MARKETS;
   (E) DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL SERVICES;
   (F) DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AND COMMUNITY SUPERVISION;
   (G) DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION;
   (H) DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION;
   (I) DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL SERVICES;
   (J) DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH;
   (K) DEPARTMENT OF LABOR;
   (L) DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES;
   (M) DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE;
   (N) DEPARTMENT OF TAXATION AND FINANCE;
   (O) DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION;
   (P) DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN SERVICES;
   (Q) DIVISION OF CONSUMER PROTECTION;
   (R) DIVISION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES;
