 AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to  prohibiting  trustees
   and  members of a board of education from voting on matters before the
   board which affect a family member of the trustee or board member
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  The education law is amended by adding a new section 2104
 to read as follows:
   § 2104. VOTING BY TRUSTEES AND MEMBERS OF BOARD OF EDUCATION. NO TRUS-
 TEE OR MEMBER OF A BOARD OF EDUCATION SHALL VOTE ON  ANY  MATTER  BEFORE
 THE  BOARD  WHEN  SUCH  VOTE SHALL AFFECT A PERSON WHO IS RELATED TO THE
 TRUSTEE OR MEMBER AND SUCH PERSON IS EMPLOYED BY THE BOARD OF  EDUCATION
 OR SCHOOL DISTRICT OR WOULD BE FINANCIALLY IMPACTED BY SUCH VOTE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
