AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to the number of hours which
constitute a work week
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The labor law is amended by adding a new section 160-a to
read as follows:
§ 160-A. HOURS TO CONSTITUTE A WEEK'S WORK. 1. UNLESS OTHERWISE
PROVIDED BY LAW, FOR ALL EMPLOYEES, EXCEPT THOSE ENGAGED IN FARM WORK
AND THOSE AFFECTED BY SUBDIVISION FOUR OF SECTION TWO HUNDRED TWENTY OF
THIS CHAPTER, THIRTY-TWO HOURS SHALL CONSTITUTE A LEGAL WEEK'S WORK.
2. THIS SECTION SHALL NOT PREVENT AN AGREEMENT FOR OVERWORK AT AN
INCREASED COMPENSATION, EXCEPT UPON WORK BY OR FOR THE STATE OR A MUNIC-
IPAL CORPORATION, OR BY CONTRACTORS OR SUBCONTRACTORS THEREWITH, AND
EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS CHAPTER.
§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

This should be supported to reduce costs in infrastructure/environment to house employees for work duties, cost to state for facilities & environmental issues linked with such, and reduction in commute related dangers, costs, and environmental impact. Research has proven an increase to productivity and quality of work.
