BILL NUMBER: S6290 SPONSOR: SANDERS TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to requiring a quar- terly report on the opioid settlement fund PURPOSE: To ensure that Opioid Stewardship Funds are being utilized in an expedi- ent manner to combat the substance use disorder crisis. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. Section 97-aaaaa of the state finance law is amended by adding a new subdivision 8 to read as follows: 8. THE RELEVANT COMMISSIONERS SHALL SUBMIT A QUARTERLY REPORT TO THE TEMPORARY PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE, THE SPEAKER OF THE ASSEMBLY, AND THE CHAIRS OF THE SENATE AND ASSEMBLY COMMITTEES ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG

SANDERS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Alcoholism and Substance Use Disorders AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to requiring a quar- terly report on the opioid settlement fund THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision (c) of section 25.18 of the mental hygiene law is amended by adding a new paragraph 11 to read as follows: 11. THE RELEVANT COMMISSIONERS SHALL SUBMIT A QUARTERLY REPORT TO THE OPIOID SETTLEMENT BOARD, THE TEMPORARY PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE, THE SPEAKER OF THE ASSEMBLY, AND THE CHAIRS OF THE SENATE AND ASSEMBLY COMMITTEES ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG ABUSE, THAT SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO, THE AMOUNT OF THE FUNDS CURRENTLY HELD IN THE OPIOID SETTLE- MENT FUND, THE AMOUNTS DISBURSED THAT QUARTER, THE NAMES, ADDRESSES, AND AMOUNTS AWARDED TO THE RECIPIENTS, AND THE NAMES, ADDRESSES, AND THE AMOUNTS RECEIVED BY THE RECIPIENTS, FOR SUCH QUARTER. SUCH QUARTERLY REPORT SHALL BE COMPILED WITH PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED QUARTERLY REPORTS. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
