 Introduced by Sen. SEPULVEDA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed  to  be committed to the Committee on Crime Victims, Crime and
   Correction
 
 AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to providing for  access
   to  legal  counsel when a correctional facility has suspended visiting
   privileges

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section  112 of the correction law is amended by adding a
 new subdivision 7 to read as follows:
   7. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL ESTABLISH PROCEDURES TO ALLOW AN INCARCERAT-
 ED INDIVIDUAL IN A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY WHICH  HAS  SUSPENDED  VISITING
 PRIVILEGES  TO  HAVE  PRIVATE  MEETINGS WITH THEIR LEGAL COUNSEL.   SUCH
 PRIVATE MEETINGS MAY BE HELD  IN-PERSON,  VIA  TELEPHONE,  OR  ELECTRON-
 ICALLY.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
