Definitions
General Business (GBS) CHAPTER 20, ARTICLE 6
§ 60. Definitions. As used in this article:

1. "Junk metal" means any product made of steel, copper, copper alloy,
brass, aluminum, or aluminum alloy that is readily used or useable by a
public utility, railroad, county, city or state highway department,
public or private school, or an institution of higher education or which
has an established market for resale to scrap processors as defined in
section sixty-nine-e of this chapter.

2. "Junk dealer" means any individual, firm, corporation, limited
liability company, or partnership engaged in the business of purchasing
and reselling valuable metal either at a permanently established place
of business or in connection with a business of an itinerant nature,
including junk shops, junk yards, junk stores, auto wreckers, salvage
yards, collectors of or dealers in junk and junk cars or trucks, but
shall not include any individual, firm, corporation, limited liability
company, or partnership duly licensed as a scrap processor as provided
in article six-c of this chapter.

3. "Purchase" means acquiring a junk metal product or products by a
junk dealer for a consideration, but does not include purchases between
scrap processors.
