New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), along with the Music Educators' National Conference (MENC) is celebrating March as Music in Schools Month. As part of this celebration, area schools are giving special performances at the Empire State Plaza in Albany. Local schools that are scheduled to perform this month include: Fonda-Fultonville High School Select Chorus, Northville Central School Senior High Band, Van Antwerp Middle School Chamber Strings, and the Dorothy Nolan Elementary School Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus. On March 5th, State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) enjoyed listening to music by the students in the Fonda-Fultonville High School Select Chorus, under the direction of Lisa Vosburgh, at the Empire State Plaza as part of Music in the Schools Month.
